ππ MEN'S HEALTH WEEK ππ
This Men's Health Week, we're celebrating the positive impact that swim, bike and run can have on both physical and mental wellbeing.
At Nottingham Triathlon Club, we know that training is about more than chasing finish times. It's about friendship, support and being part of a community where everyone feels welcome.
As we head into the heart of the season and training starts to get tougher, it's more important than ever to keep supporting one another. Check in with your training partners, encourage your club mates and remember that everyone has good days and bad days.
Looking after your health isn't just about exercise. It's about talking, listening and knowing that you don't have to do it alone.
Keep swimming. Keep biking. Keep running. And keep looking out for each other. ππ

π Volunteer Spotlight Chris
Why do you volunteer with Nottingham Triathlon Club?
It's enjoyable, it's a chance to put something back. The club and triathlon have been so good to me over the years. Met some great people, we've participated in some great events and celebrated after.
What does your volunteer role involve?
I'm on the committee, I organise the social events and help with the social media. I've volunteered at our Swim Bike Run events and various local events. It's been a great few years.
Favourite thing about volunteering at NTC?
Hanging out with club mates β we're such a friendly club β then getting the opportunity to cheer people on who are taking on something epic.
Most memorable moment as a volunteer?
Our soldβout triathlon event last fall. Great response from the club and local triathlon community. Harvey Hadden's such a great multiβsport venue. Went well... Everyone was cheered in from the first to the last, the same. What triathlon is about.
What would you say to someone thinking about volunteering?
Do it. From helping out in your local club β which all clubs require β you get it back in seeing the club succeed, to volunteering at awesome local events like Outlaw, cheering on people that have put so much into training and so appreciate the support. Very special atmosphere at these events.
If you would like to join the committee, please get in touch.

π¦ Coach Spotlight Ollie
How long have you been coaching at Nottingham Triathlon Club?
3 Years
What do you enjoy most about coaching?
Getting to know the athletes and watch them develop always makes my cup full.
Favourite session to coach?
I have to stay true to my Wednesday Morning Swim Crew. They invigorate me and are my energy for the rest of the day.
What advice would you give someone new to triathlon?
Enjoy it and never stop enjoying.
What's the most rewarding part of seeing athletes develop?
The smiles and excitement from seeing the needle move.
Next event ππ΄π
I donβt have any events to race but Iβll be at Outlaw Holkham on the π· @thehipposeye_photography
Goal for 2026 π―
Get back to training properly after a few years of injuries.
Fun fact about me π
I organised and completed 22 half distance triathlons in 22 consecutive days in 22 different cities. Raising money for charity. I got a full page feature in 220 triathlon magazine and was on BBC radio Nottingham and Norwich.
Bio
I currently hold a British Triathlon Level 2 Coach qualification, alongside a UEFA C Football Coaching Licence where I coach both U9 grassroots and U12 Derby Academy players. Iβm also a Level 3 Personal Trainer, with additional qualifications in Sports Nutrition and a Level 5 in Coaching, Mentoring and Teaching.
I have 12 years of military service in the British Army, where Iβve coached and mentored both Regular and Reserve soldiers through basic training and into their continued development. Iβve been involved in Triathlon for 11 years, both competing and coaching athletes across all distances.
From a coaching perspective, my biggest highlight is the consistency and community, seeing everyone turn up on a Wednesday morning and especially hearing about the successes they achieve throughout the season.
Why I coach:
Itβs simple β I love seeing people enjoy themselves. Across any sport I coach, itβs about the smiles, the progress, and the sense of achievement. Thatβs become even more important to me since Iβve not been able to compete myself.
